Fabulous Beasts and Familiars

 

 

The witches Familiar was chosen or given to a witch. A spirit or the witch in disguise. A helper in the night because, witches work mostly during nighttimes. Shape shifting as one of these animals. Fantasy tales of the Medieval times or not? Nowadays witches usually have cats or dogs for their company and some have owl or bird visitors. And feel they have a psychic connection with them. During the Inquisition trials they have been recorded as cats, bats, dogs, rabbits. With fanciful names. Read the story of Cerridwen and other shapeshifting ones all cultures have them.

 

Dragon: beasts of tremendous power and great magic. Some can fly or hold treasure. Fiery like the Gnomes who are often associated with them and help them. In our modern times connected with the dinosaurs, and not to forget the leylines in sacred places, observed by seers as red firery or electric blue lines, with slashing tales over the landscape and respected therefore. Working and well-known off their stored energies. Withhold in crystalpowers.A guardian of wisdom and protection.

 

 

Owl:The bird of prey a companion of the Goddess. The owl can see in the night and is sharply focused on what happens anywhere in every direction. Helps with clairvoyance.

Associated with death-bringers, and life after death messengers in a positive way. Magically to work with past lives and lunar healing with great accuracy.

 

 

Bat: We all know the shape shifting Batman. Who stands up for people who need help in the night. Bats are very sexual creatures with their personal mates. Yes, I hear you think RomanticVampire films! Work with the moon, sleep at night, and sensitive but their other side is drastically rebellious jealous, and can be moody. Magically work also for business purposes.

 

 

Crow: A Goddess the Celtic Morrighan changed into a crow on the battle field. Crows can learn to talk and work with communication skills. They also manipulate and  can create illusions. Magically they have a lot of space to think and plan and will fight for their own rights!

 

 

 

 

Unicorn: Unicorns have only relationships with people they completely trust and will do anything for them in danger. Goddess energy of the Maiden, romance and fragrant flowers. Love the forests and are usually snow-white, looks like a horse, and has a single horn. Spiralling out of their foreheads.

 

 

 

Basilisk: A monster who can be very dangerous, and looks like a giant serpent. Sometimes has wings and a face of a bird. Protect yourself to show its own reflection in a shield or mirror. Mostly found in dungeons and deserts.

 

 

Phoenix: A beautiful red and golden feathered bird who sings lovely songs. At the end of its life it builds a nest and sings to the rising sun. Opens up and burst into a flame, immediately a new phoenix comes out of the ashes to life. Magically hope and rebirth.

 

 

Griffin: Big nests in the mountains, and find on shields of Royal families. Between an eagle and a lion, wings, clawed legs and feathered head. Huge powerful and Majestic. For strength and protection.

 

 

 

To find your Familiar go on a journey within. Ancient and new Cultures make use of drums or trance music. Dance, your power-Animal and ask for its guidance and protection. Always be cautious and respect. After the dance ground yourself, and eat and drink, give some to the Earth.

Feel Blessed if you find a token, feather or piece of fur and carry it upon yourself as an Amulet of protection and love.
